The final round for solo snare drum:

This piece was the fruit of inspiration during the preparation of my repertoire for the Italy PAS International Competition 2012, in order to make a piece for the final round and to be able to show all my musical skills with the snare drum in its maximum splendour. The idea is to bring out the maximum resources with the instrument, where the performer will have an ambitious challenge of precision, speed, virtuosity, rhythm interpretation, ornamentation, drastic changes of nuances, endurance and above all musicality.

Barking portraits for snare drum solo:

This piece is based on all the sounds and rhythmic motifs of my "canine friend Zazú". The main objective is to represent with the snare drum such characteristic sounds as growls, accelerated breathing, ear twitching, the sound of footsteps etc... and above all his peculiar barks; which make up the main rhythmic motif with which the whole piece is developed (5+7+3). Starting from this base, the performer will have to accept this challenge of descriptive music facing the different metric combinations, extreme dynamics, technical difficulties and a whole timbre combination exploiting the different sounds and effects of the instrument as well as the change and combination of different drumsticks for special effects.

Full Steam for solo multi-percussion:

Full Steam consists of capturing the personality of my percussionist friend Jesús Pacheco. His style in this kind of pieces is usually nervous, powerful, energetic, fast and melodic between tom toms. As the piece develops, the rhythm and tension increases, imitating a steam engine, accelerating more and more until the end, although with a contrasting slower part in the middle, which will serve to turn the end into an even more powerful reflection.

The piece contains metronomic changes, rhythmic progressions, different techniques using hoops, drum heads, bass drums and different drumsticks with different combinations of timbres. In this way numerous changes of colours and musical aspects are achieved to create a powerful and virtuosic image for the audience.

Two Explorations for snare drum solo:

This piece consists of a technical, timbral and musical exploration of two of the most important and delicate aspects for the snare drum. It is made up of two independent movements in order to make a more intense study in each of them: "exploration of the redoble and exploration of mordents". In each movement the performer will have to solve different problems such as extreme nuances, timbre differences, complex rhythms, as well as a correct choice and combination of hands to achieve clarity and fluency in the interpretation.

ARVS Q-FRADVS for snare drum solo:

This piece is a small tribute to Andalusian processional/cofrade music, based on small fragments which are varied and combined to achieve the authentic traditional character and style.

The double purpose that we can also find in this work is to bring it closer to the world of classical percussion, having to make a deeper study to overcome the different difficulties that arise, thus needing the use of different resources to achieve a technically high performance, with musicality and without losing any feature of traditional music.

ARVS Q-FRADVS vol. 2 for snare drum solo:

After the success and interest aroused by the predecessor work "ARVS Q-FRADVS", I felt the need to complete it with a second part in which to include classical marches and the most recent additions to cofrade music.

The idea of this work is to conclude a personal project and thus pay homage to Andalusian processional/cofrade music, based on small fragments which are varied and combined with each other to achieve the authentic traditional character and style.

Once again, the double purpose that we can find in this piece is to bring it closer to the world of classical percussion, having to make a deeper study to overcome the different difficulties at a technical, interpretative and musical level without losing the traditional character.
